Spring 2008

Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Graham Wale and I would like to take this time to introduce myself to you!

For many years growing up as a boy in Poole, England, I always dreamt of being a speedway rider. Standing in the stands or on the corners at Wimborne Road, getting covered in black dust and muck brought much enjoyment to my life!

I entered the world of cycle speedway and rode in Poole for many years, breaking a few bones and a few hearts!! I loved anything associated with speedway then and more so today.

I moved to Canada and a couple of years ago, I was given the opportunity to ride a speedway bike by my very dear friend "Big" John Perry, on a fall afternoon in October. I arrived at the Paris Speedway track and borrowed some gear from other guys and climbed aboard John's bike. At last my dreams and aspirations had come true and I entered the track with other riders to try it out! "Bloody Marvelous!!!" were my first words uttered as I left the track, coming back into the pits. I had done it and been out on a speedway bike!

This led to the purchase of my very own bike from John and I built a great bike which I still ride today. I have ridden 2 full seasons at Paris Speedway and have had much enjoyment in doing so! Despite my first night of fence demolition due to a jammed throttle and a loop that knocked every bone in my body, I have given both the fans, my friends and my beloved wife Dulce, weeks of fun and a good time. I am very proud to have been given the nickname of "Pirate" by my buddy and webmaster "Bones" Hensby, we both have a deep passion for out very dear "Poole Pirates" and are often seen together at Paris Speedway promoting their name and logos!

I am currently the Vice-President of the Canadian Speedway Racing Association for the 2008 Canadian speedway season. We work hard to grow speedway in Canada, and I am very pleased with all the changes for the new season that we have made!

Please enjoy your stay at my website and I hope that you will return very soon to see what the "Pirate" is up to!

Graham
